IV: CHEMMER’S CANYON
//A LAW AND MISRULE CAMPAIGN //
The Zone known as Chemmer’s Canyon connects several domes and settlements in an area located roughly half a kilometer below Necromunda's ground level in a millennia old ravine that cuts deep into Necromundan bedrock. Clinging to its walls and along its floor like barnacles on a sump-faring vessel are numerous settlements, outposts and dwellings, struggling for survival against gunk slides, hive quakes, sludge drifts and worse. Chemmer’s Canyon gets its name from the usually high number of Chem addicts found littering its slums and ductways. Maybe human existence in Chemmer’s Canyon is unusually hard so more turn to Chems as a way of coping. Perhaps it’s to do with the Zone’s close proximity to rich bounties of Ghast, who knows? One thing is for sure and certain, The Enforcer’s and Law-abiding Gangs have a gargantuan task on their hands in keeping Chemmer’s Canyon from falling in to complete and lawless anarchy.
OUTLAW V.S. LAW ABIDING
When players found their gangs they must decide on their alignment; Outlaw or Law abiding. There are pros and cons to both detailed in TBoJ. The Chemmer's Canyon campaign will be a Turf War between 2 factions: the Lawful and the Outlaw…ful. The gangs on these two sides have made an uneasy alliance with one another with the hope of controlling the cred-making enterprises of Chemmer's Canyon, these are known as Rackets. A running total of each side's controlled Rackets and rep will be kept to determine which has the upper hand. Individual tallies will also be kept for individual Triumphs just like in previous Turf Wars. As this is a Law and Misrule Campaign, battles will be fought for control of Rackets rather than Territories. They are very similar except Rackets yield more creds. During the course of the campaign. Gangs may trade freely with other gangs of the same alignment. This could be creds, items/weapons, captives, Rackets, bodily fluids. Fighters and Rep may not be exchanged. CAMPAIGN SPECIAL RULES THE TRIUMPHS Slaughterer - most taken OOA Racketeer - most rackets controlled Lord of Law/misrule - highest rep Hit Man - most leaders of the opposite alignment taken OOA Plunderer - most loot crates opened Chem King - most stamps earned GANG FORMATION
1000 credit starting funds. Any creds not spent at first are added to your stash. Champions, Gangers and Juves from previous campaigns may be rehired along with their advancements and exp. Their weapons and wargear may also be bought with them however this is optional, you may wish to rehire them with different equipment. Leaders from previous campaigns may not be rehired (legit rule, not a house rule) CHALLENGES
Each gang will start will two randomly determined Rackets. Games in the Expansion phase will be for a randomly determined racket whereas games in the Justice phase will be for a racket chosen by the gang with the lowest GR (the challenger). The player with the lowest GR decides on the type of game (SM or ZM) along with how many tiles are to be used if ZM (4-9). As the challengers they are also assumed to be the attacker in scenarios where this would apply. BOOKS
The rules from all published Necromunda books and FAQs will be in play during this campaign. GUILD/CRIMINAL ALLIANCES
You may form alliances with Guilds or Criminal Organisations, however, you can only use additional models from these alliances in games where your opponent is also using them. This is to prevent people getting steamrollered early on. Note that players will gain the advantages and suffer the drawbacks as normal. INTRIGUES
As this is a Law and Misrule campaign, intrigues will be played in each game. Players draw three before the game begins. STAMP CARD
Each player has a stamp card and can earn stamps for reaching goals. Stamp milestones earn Rep and the player that gains the most stamps earns the title of Canyon Master COLLECTING INCOME
Collecting income from territories takes place ONCE per cycle (club session). HOUSE RULES
Check the house rules section of the forum for house rules applicable to this campaign. THE DEATH OF A LEADER
Leaders cannot be killed until the justice phase. Treat a roll of 66 (glorious death) as a ‘critical injury’ result. Treat a roll of a 1 at the doc's as a ‘stabilised’ result. Leaders may be captured as normal but cannot be sold to Guilders or sacrificed in a Chaos ritual until the Justice phase. LOOT CRATES
3 loot crates are placed on EVERY battlefield before fighters are deployed. The content of these loot crates is generated randomly from a custom table. There is a triumph for the gang that opens the most. ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECT CARDS
These may be played by the arbitrator at any time and are effective from the following round. DATES
Sessions will be arranged month-by-month around people’s availability, either at club or at someone’s gaff. The Expansion Phase (take control of unclaimed Rackets) - 3 club sessions Downtime (optional extra narrative driven games) - 1 club session The Justice Phase (take control of other players' Rackets) - 3 club sessions Note: each 'club session' = one cycle in game terms. Income from Rackets are collected once per cycle. Any games played over and above these club sessions will count as downtime games and will therefore not yield Rep or creds as rewards. Fighters will still gain exp and loot crate contents.

CYCLE I : Part 1Trojan MC. Once a respected Gang of House Orlock make it very clear they don't give a shit about Enforcers, rules, regulations. They rack up the following violations. Assault on a Palanite Captain, attempting to plant false evidence, public urination.- Captain Lassard establishes a perimeter looking to secure the Bullet Cutting enterprise from outlaw scumbags and villains.
- Vizla and his Trojans burst on to the scene and preceded to break heads. A.R.B.I.T.E.S.O.U.P. are caught completely off guard.
- The first Enforcer Mahoney goes down to Cretheus' Thunder Hammer. Not to be outdone, Vizla charges in and smashes Cptn. Lassard off his feet.
- Matt's Guild allies turn up ready to deal flamer death to the tightly packed Trojans. To Jason's relief they flee the board before the trigger is pulled.
- A couple of Trojans gain access to the outfit's main chamber and proceed to piss on the relic (as well as the hopes and dreams of A.R.B.I.T.E.S.O.U.P.)
- Matt considers using an intrigue to bribe Jason with 250c to win the game. Jason ponders momentarily before continuing to deal out more shotty death!
- With most of his fighters OOA or fleeing, Matt decides to grab what he could from the loot crates. The two he opened turned out to be Gas traps. Safe to say A.R.B.I.T.E.S.O.U.P. were done. Time to bounce.
- Jason risks claiming a Lawful intrigue but gets away with it, bagging +2 Rep. Together with the mission and stamp card rewards Trojan MC are on a whopping 9 Rep already.

Amelie Valkyrie had awoken to nothing more than a note and the remnants of amesac in her belly bringing the taste of bile up to her throat. The note read, "On the road, My gang before my house and my house before anything else."
It was the Orlock way.
To chemmer Canyon they road leaving nothing but the smell of promethium, kalma and wild snake on their trail. Trojan had been formally disavowed, after the house was reprimanded by the corpse guild, they were considered outlaw to everyone else, forced to dwell with the ghast addicts and other sorts of tweekers, mutants and scum. Raiding everything he could from their stash before hitting the road, the Keiser had struck a deal with the water guild to allow passage through hidden water ways, away from gunk springs. Bitterly earned scrip passing over to a bitter partner.
The Keiser was keen to make a killer reputation in the canyon he needed to secure territory quick and luckily the water guild had provided a place to party. Scum girls were easier and more readily available than those in gunk springs, but they they had provided some valuable insight, with their lose lipped singing. Ammunition stocks were running low and they needed a place to cut the slugs for the shotguns that brought the scrip, it was the only way here. Vizla had already taken over the main caravan route from the canyon and had started exacting tolls in true Orlock fashion but without ammo he would have no way to enforce and keep it.
Shock and Awe was the trojan way and before the girl could leave the bedside of Vizla he was up. He smacked his lieutenant Lazlo on the shoulder "Get the boys we are heading out!"
"And where is it you're going?" The bounty hunter guide Cretheus' inquired in a sarcastic tone. "no where that concerns you" Vizla replied dully "We will see won't we" with that Cretheus kicked up a hammer rivaling that of the Keiser.
"They're both compensating for something" Lazlo sniggered to Buddy, the two lieutenants packing ready move.
Every one hit the road parking about a mile away from the bullet cutters. Unpacking weapons they made their move double time. The waterguild cronies struggling to keep up.
As they rounded the Corner they noticed the Po-po and Vizla held back, Cretheus had other Ideas and just ran forwards smashing his hammer into one of the enforcers obliterating him.
"Dick!" Vizla snapped, and in that frustration ran forwards himself.

Sawyer grumbled quietly to himself, it wouldn’t do any good if the men saw him as disheartened by this posting as they had been. Guard Duty. Sawyer wasn’t even sure what it was they were supposed to be guarding. A buzzing, sparking, tangled mess of wires at the top of a silo in emperor-forsaken Chemmers Canyon of all places. The request had come from a silent benefactor, but the Enforcers were paid handsomely for it.
Since coming into the Canyon, Sawyer and his men had stamped their authority on some Peddlers of Forbidden Lore, and a Xenos Beast Trafficking Ring, Sawyer netting himself a Grapplehawk for his ability to “Look the other way”. After all, if the locals wanted weird, harmless pets, who is he to stop them?
He’d posted guards at the Objective while he patrolled the perimeter, getting used to the commands for the hawk. Static flared and his communicator sounded, he could hear the sound of gunfire as Bachman reported hostile sightings. Chemmers Canyon wasn’t as dreary as he expected. Rushing to aid his men, he saw a gang of feral looking women assaulting the silo. His men had taken up good positions and were raining fire down on the attacking crew. Sawyer saw an opportunity and loosed his Grenade launcher at two making the climb via a container. He was spotted and rushed by one of the wild women, her sword thrust quick and past his shield, cutting into the fabric of his armour and grazing the skin. The wound didn’t draw blood though. He was lucky, he could see the sheen of toxins on the blade. Before she could strike again he pressed on with his shield and knocked her out cold. The rest of the enforcers had finished up and an arrest had been made. The captive was quickly transferred to the local bounty hunters, they had a better idea of how to deal with the locals.
By the time the Guard Duty was up and R.U.S.H. had made it back to the precinct, a cred stack was waiting for Sawyer with a seal, courtesy of the Slave Guild. Sawyer pocketed the creds and tossed the guilder note. Sawyer despised Slavers, but if they were going to pay him, why not make a bit extra on the side…

The briefing room fell silent as heavy boot steps echoed down the hall; marching steadily, but with purpose. The door opened with a steady creak that seemed to last an eternity as the Commandant entered the room.
The patrolmen’s' gazes shifted between each other and the collection of report sheets the Commandant was carrying; being careful not to attract unwanted attention, they averted his gaze.
Regimentally, the patrolmen stood to attention as the Commandant reached the lectern.
[silence]
Lassard’s voice boomed across the room through the silence like a concussion grenade to the side of the head.
“DO NOT EVEN THINK OF SITTING DOWN-I HAVE MUCH TO SAY!
I have here, each and every one of your training exercise reports. I must say it disheartens me to see such a blatant disregard for duty.”
Lassard’s gaze levelled with Tackleberry and Murphy, Mahoney and Turner.
“I expect more from my Officers: Intelligence, Commitment, Determination and Resolve.
With the latest abysmal performance, you are all on probation.”
[Sighs fill the room]
Everyone will report for duty at 0500 hours, drills will run double.
We are nothing if we do not work as a single unit, each supporting the other as foundations to a wall. YOU will be the foundations, YOU will be the bricks and mortar that hold together the fragile balance of this community, WE will be the wall, WE will rise above the wall high and mighty, for we are the LAW!”
[In unison] “WE ARE THE LAW!”
“We will stamp out the incessant waste of putrid filth that call themselves gangers and cultists with the heavy heel of our Imperial boots! We will slap their grins from their silly, buckteeth mouth holes and cave their skulls in with the butts of Helmawr's finest weaponry; spit down the throats of any who bring unrest and disobedience to our creed. We are: The Lawful, The Valiant, The Righteous, The LAW!”
“THE LAW!”
“Be seated!”
The Commandant continued with the debrief with each officer’s full attention. Lassard commanded respect, his word was unquestionable. The last recruit to ever disrespect Lassard spent 2 weeks in the infirmary.
The Enforcers would learn from their mistakes, they would become stronger, faster, wiser.
The law was unforgiving. You cross the law. It crosses you-right off the map!

CYCLE I : Part 2 Little Claw's Banshees swoop in to take a stash of goods under Enforcer protection but are repelled by the grim defenders. R.U.S.H. capture one of the Escher fighters and hands her over to Beartrum Arturos III. Beartrum and his Justice Syndicate are transporting the captive to their Guilder contacts when Little Claw strikes... - Little Claw hits fast and hits hard. Throwing daggers and lashing out with her ill-gotten witchcraft.
- The Banshees make a good start and gain a swift advantage before the alarm is raised.
- Once the defenders became aware of what was going on they called for backup. I rolled poorly so Mike decided where half of them would be entering... AGES AWAY.
- Helena Chops, seasoned hunter and and old pro at rounding up outlaw scum makes a beeline for Little Claw (a bee is an ancient Terran insect thought to have vanished circa M2). Helena activates her combat stimms and becomes a blur of violence not even Little Claw could handle, Little Claw falls to her power axe.
- Meanwhile the other Banshees release the captive. With their mission complete and not wishing to sustain any more losses The Banshees make their getaway.
- Beartrum Arturos III curses Little Claw for making him look a fool in front of his Guilder contacts and swears revenge for the damage to his reputation.
- Mike has THREE fighters available for his next game while I have FOUR (not including hired scum). As this was a Rescue Mission no Rackets are won, only pride lost. GGGG

Sawyer had not been looking forward to this. The Slave guild had called in their favour and R.U.S.H. had failed in keeping Trojan M.C. away from the slave cargo. Sawyer was meeting the representative in the local guild hall. A distant explosion rang out and the hall shuddered. That wasn’t unusual, this was Chemmers Canyon after all, home to mines and factories for substances and goods both illicit and illegal. What was unusual was the slave guild were late. ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC ORC
The Ogryns came rushing through the building, crashing through the doorways and walls, one of them had the body of a slaver in its giant fists. Sawyer could see the slaver had been beaten to a pulp. Blood splattered furnace plates bore down on him before he could get out of the way and the stampede rushed past, chanting something about a revolution in their guttural tones. Sawyer picked himself up, took stock and radioed his squad, “Pack it up boys, we’re moving to greener pastures, R.U.S.H. are headed out of this stinking canyon”.
The Ogryn Revolution has begun.

Parlay had been called... as Vizla walked into the underdog drinking hole a man stood out of place arrogance dripping from him. The Keizer lit an iho and took a stool next to the purple robed man. The pair looked the odd couple the shirtless vizla next to a man who wore a wig. The red painted steel of the walls did nothing to hide the rust. "Duncan, may i call you that?" the arrogant man asked not waiting for an answer he continued. "anyway Duncan. I am Beartrum, I'm sure you've heard of me and I have something i need from you" "Go on" Vizla didn't like this smug frack but he may as well listen, he did have Lyons after all. "I am well aware of your past, how do I put this, exploits both here and in gunk springs. I have an increasing problem in a syndicate called O.R.C and want you're assistance. and I have intercepted this message from a contact within the water guild that may interest you." Beartrum handed over a data slate Vizla read the script slower than normal, still hazy from the night before, tapping ash from the iho on the floor and placing the stick in the tray on the steel coated bar. "Wild snake for me" Vizla nodded to the barkeep "make mine an amesac 13" Beartrum added, Vizla wondered if he was going to pick up his own tab. The data slate suggested that a new Orlock gang had come in to town with a message for Vizla, Valkyrie had moved on and her interests elsewhere and he was safe to come home as the waterguild had now endorsed Trojan. Vizla placed the slate on the bar and rubbed his eyes, picked up the Iho stick and took another long drag from it, before throwing it to the floor and crushing it with the toe of his boot against the grated steel. "what do you want then?" Vizla inquired. "I want you to pacify O.R.C do that and I'll release this data" "heh that can be done, who are they?" "Did I not mention, they are an Ogryn slave caravan that escaped" Vizlas face dropped what had he agreed to one ogryn was hard enough to handle nevermind a whole caravan. "Consider it done" and Vizla took his drink in one "Goodman!" Beartrum said with a sinister smile then continued "oh and remember I have Lester Lyons and you betray my, um, trust then bad things may happen to him." Vizla stood looking down a the wig wearing frack. He could of crushed his skull but decided against it on this occasion. People like him always had people and who knows where bullets may land. He stepped out of the bar greated by buddy. "We got planning to do" "Where did we store C.U.N2?" ...... off they rode ready to meet Cretheus and see what their water guild 'allies' could provide. This wasn't going to be easy and they would need everything they can muster.

R.U.S.H. had moved on, their barracks cleared of stock and arbiters.
Lassard had been informed of cutbacks and other funding issues, but he knew best.
An ogryn caravan had escaped and started their own revolution. A rampage across Chemmer's Canyon that was seeing no resistance, causing riotous unrest and ruin in their wake.
Lassard knew that without reinforcements it would only be a matter of time before the Ogryns laid waste to all that Chemmer's Canyon had to offer. He had to act swiftly and engage the Ogryns head on if but to slow or redirect their onslaught. 12 bodies were in the med-centres and other back room surgeries following their recent spate of revolt.
Lassard pounded his fist into the table top letting out an angered shout! It was time.
He grabbed the fusion cutter from his lower desk drawer and stood up pacing toward his office door and kicking it open with his boot!
"You! With me! Arm up!" he bellowed across the precinct hall as he marched through the briefing room towards the basement access ramp.
Followed by his retinue, Lassard bounded down the passage to the lock-up - with fusion cutters in hand he cut the chain holding the doors to the container shut.
The chain and lock dropped to the ground with a loud thud. Lassard gripped the doors with a pause as he tilted his head rearward: "Time for you to meet my partner, K1-L Series Construction Automaton; Designated: 3R."
The doors flew open and Lassard whispered into the darkness: " K1LL3R, we've got work to do, Assailant Protocols Engage!"
The gyros started turning in the machine as power systems came online, a deep hum and growing rumble of the autonomous systems coming to life.
*****
The Arbiters stood their ground as the Ogryn's advanced through the settlement toward a residential hab-block. The Arbiter's had one objective, redirect the revolting Ogryn stampede away from the civilians and away from the settlement, no matter the cost.
A tough skirmish ahead, the Precinct's Med-block on high alert for inbound casualties.
K1LL3R's protocols flashed up on his HUD:
:Protect the innocent; :Uphold the law; :Preserve the public trust; :Directive Omega; :Directive Sigma.
There was a low rumble as tremors in the ground signified the advancing stampede.
The Ogryn's approached...

The Ogryns thundered down the zone mortalis. Korg wasn't sure where they were headed, the Ambot scouted ahead for anything they could smash. Trojan MC lay in wait. As Topaz and the Ambot rounded a corner they ran head long into a waiting Ambot and an Water Guild Brute. Topaz and a slave-lobo barrelled into the trap, their weapons bouncing harmlessly off the ambot armour plates. Caught off guard but not unprepared, the Ogryn's ambot companion was torn in half by the water guild brute, 66 dead. Poor guy, he'd only been freed a few days earlier! Topaz soon fell amid a flurry of blows from a water guild flunky, the toxin turning his skin a sickly grey. Korg charged in, ready to reap his vengeance on the closest target, an autocannon wielding orlock. All the attacks hit home, but the orlock was quick and only one found the mark. Korg was in trouble. The orlocks piled on to the Ogryn and his vision turned black as a stileeto sword slipped underneath his furnace plate. Trojan MC caused 6 ooa, including the Ogryn leader who suffered a spinal injury after being saved by the doc from a roll of 64. the ambot bought the space farm and is probably being served in a stew, while the Ogryn Revolution Comitee caused no damage to Trojan MC and R4-Y2 was captured. The Comitee called in fellow outlaws, the Warbastards to help save the lobo-slave before he could be sold back into slavery. With a reduced crew, Korg in recovery along with a couple of the lobo-slaves, the Ogryns called in the bounty hunter and hive scum assistance, along with the warbastards crew. The bounty hunter informed the comitee that R4 was being held in the central vault, looking over a cavernous drop. The Orlocks had set up with their heavy weapons overlooking the pit down the corridor to the approaching outlaws. The water guild brute and ambot again surged forwards to block the hallway to the prisoner, while rosa and the goliath heavy bolter and grenade launcher pinned the orlock heavy weapons. The Ogryns looked like they had the upper hand when the water guild brute was seriously injured, but they couldn't capitalise on it as the Ambot was near by. The combat blocked the route the Outlaws needed to take, and the large brutes were easy prey to the orlock shredder shotgun rounds, who had no qualms about shooting through their own guys to take the Ogryns down. A lobo-slave was blasted off his feet and spooked Topaz, who fled, while Mieck lay on the floor seriously injured, he was taken ooa by an orlock ganger. The warbastards didn't fare much better, with the water guild running riot through their lines. Apparently 5+ cool is harder to pass than you would have thought. The outlaws failed to save R4, and the ogryn momentum has been suitably halted. Trojan MC took 3 of the ogryn comitee ooa and 4 of the warbastards out, while claiming a loot casket in the process. Warbastards also claimed a loot casket which contained an archeotech device which is going to be fun. The ogryn revolution committee took a battering, with their rating going from 1440 to 1275.
